Letter from the Chairman

A
s a County Official I understand the scope of the challenges that face our County and I look forward to serving Polk County in another capacity --- as your Chamber President.  Despite the challenges that face our county and state, 2009 has been a successful year for the Livingston-Polk County Chamber of Commerce. Given the state of the economy and the possible challenges that we are facing, we hope to continue to move forward in 2010. We hope to continue cooperative advertising programs, county-wide coordinated efforts to encourage tourism, and other county-wide efforts to bring revenue and jobs into our area. These group advertising and development efforts have allowed all of us to get “more bang for our buck” than we would have been able to achieve individually.

As we face the challenges of 2010, let’s continue to do so with a positive approach, looking forward and striving to make this community even to make this community even better. I encourage you to get involved with “your” Chamber and become part of the Chamber team. Your attendance at Chamber events and support of local businesses can only strengthen this area and assist all of us in making 2010 another good year for Polk County. The Chamber has a variety of activities and programs to meet every need and we are always willing to listen to new ideas and suggestions. Give Sydney and Yvonne a call ---- get involved.

It is up to all of us to make 2010 a successful and gratifying year. I look forward to serving with you this year. Let’ make 2010 the best that it can be!

 Kenneth Hammack

Chairman
